Because of our government shut-down, the US government is not honoring the commitment to care for the families of the soldiers who have given their lives. The Defense Secretary was so "outraged and embarrassed" by this that he was able to work out a deal with a private charity to make the payments to the families until the shutdown is over. Jon B.
